Wax Light Enclosure
Pouring wax into molds over ice resulting in a uniquely textured light enclosure that allows light to penetrate in fascinating patterns
Design Process
After conducting tests with different ice sizes, ranging from finely crushed to full cubes, I concluded that a medium-sized ice proved to be the most optimal choice.
To achieve the desired spherical shape for enclosing the light, I used two circular bowls and sandwiched ice between them. The space in between was then filled with liquid wax and allowed to dry, resulting in a solid form.
To complete the assembly, I utilized a heated wand to seamlessly join the two halves, ensuring a smooth and cohesive outcome.
Finally, I carefully crafted a hole in the sphere to accommodate the insertion of an LED light, completing the creation.
